1 Etanim- the 7-th month

Gen. 23:23-24, (…) on the first day of the seventh month you are to have a day of rest, a sacred assembly commemorated with trumpet blasts. Blasting sounds of the shofar always begin this feast-and so the name the Feast of Trumpets.

We remind ourselves to Jehovah through blowing in trumpets, shofars. Then He gives us victory. We also play the trumpets on days of our joy, feasts, during sacrifice, When you go into battle in your own land against an enemy who is oppressing you, sound a blast on the trumpets. Then you will be remembered by the Lord your God and rescued from your enemies, Numb. 10, 9-10.

Shofar is usually made of ram`s horn. Abraham looked up and there in a thicket he saw a ram caught by its horn. Gen. 22. God asked Abraham to lay his son in sacrifice. When He was sure that Abraham is going to do it- just in the moment he picked up his knife to kill his son, He stopped him. He gave him a ram for an offering instead of his son. Abraham said to his son earlier that God himself will provide the lamb for the burnt offering. Jesus became this Lamb of God. Blowing in shofar is a sound of the lamb, of which God takes notice.

Hebr. 11:17-19, (…)Abraham reasoned that God could raise the dead, and figuratively speaking, he did receive Isaac back from death. Abraham believed in resurrection.

1Thes. 4:13-17,(…) For Jehovah himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet Jehovah in the air. And so we will be with Jehovah forever. 1Cor.15: 50-52. Both the Jews and the Christians believe that the Messiah will come at the sound of the trumpets. Assembly of Israel will take place at the sound of the trumpets! Could it be in the Jom Teruach?

During the feast of Jom Teruach the Book with names of saved people will be open. Later, ten days of threat of expectation for the judgment of God will come, taking place in Jom Kippur, Then a saw a great white throne and him who was seated on it. Earth and sky fled from his presence (…) Then death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. The lake of fire is the second death. If anyone`s name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.

According to the Jewish tradition, each one should hear the sound of shofar in the day of Jom Teruach. Jesus said- (…) whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be condemned; he has crossed over from death to life. I tell you the truth, a time is coming and has now come when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God and those who hear will live. John 5:24-29. Those who don`t believe, will not be raised from the dead in the first, better resurrection, but in the second resurrection for the Great Judgment.

Today the Bridegroom calls on the Bride to prepare for the Wedding of the Lamb, Let us rejoice and be glad and give him glory! For the wedding of the Lamb has come and his bride has made herself ready, Rev. 19:6-9, Eph. 5:25-27.
