For you, this month – Aviv – is to be the first month, the first month of your Year
Tell the whole community of Israel that on the tenth day of this month each man is to take a lamb for his family(…) the animal you choose must be without defect, Ex. 12:2-3,5.
The lamb was to be cared for until the fourteenth day and sacrificed on that day.
The doors of the houses were to be painted with the blood of the lamb, so that the destroyer, who was to come and judge Egypt by killing their firstborn, would not destroy the Israelites
On the evening of the 15th day of Aviv, which is the first day of the Feast of Unleavened Bread, because the biblical day starts from the evening, a lamb had to be eaten with matzo – the Passover bread
On that very night, the First Day of the Feast of Unleavened Bread, the night called the Great Night, Jehovah made judgments over Egypt and liberated the Israelites
Everyone was left healthy and prosperous
On the tenth day of the month of Aviv, almost two thousand years ago, Jeshua entered Jerusalem on a donkey as the chosen lamb without defect
Your King is coming to you, gentle and riding on a donkey And a very large crowd spread their cloaks on the road, while others cut branches from the trees and spread them on the road.
And the crowds that went ahead of him shouted:
Hosanna to the Son of David
Blessed is he who comes in the name of Jehovah, the king of Israel, Hosanna in the highest
Mt. 22:1-10.
On the fourteenth day of Aviv Jeshua was killed and hanged on a tree.
He was raised from death on the Shabbath, on the Day of First Fruits together with many saints of the Old Covenant
This is the feast on the first Shabbat during the Feast of Unleavened Bread when the shaken barley sacrifice was offered in the Temple
From this Shabbat we count seven weeks to the Feast of Shavuot – The Feast of Weeks
