God gave us His instructions. They are written in the books known as the Torah or Instructions👍
These are the feasts appointed by Jehovah, the sacred Assemblies you are to proclaim at their appointed times:
The Passover of Jehovah begins at twilight on the fourteenth day of the first month!
On the fifteenth day of that month the Feast of Unleavened Bread of Jehovah begins. For seven days you must eat bread made without yeast, Leviticus 23:4-6
Christians determine a date of Easter each year. Easter is the night when the twelve tribes of Israel came out of the Egyptian captivity!
The Easter is the same as Passover
The date of the Passover is always the same It is the fourteenth day of the first month! Naturally in the biblical or lunisolar calendar.
To liberate Israel, Jehovah sent plagues on Egypt through Moses. Before he sent the last plague which was the death of the firstborn He said:
For you, this month is to be the first month, the first month of your yearDeut.12:2
The month when Israel left Egypt is the first month of the New Year It is named the month of Aviv, which in Hebrew also means spring.
Jehovah begins His year in spring, and not in the middle of winter as pagans do.
Each month in the calendar of Jehovah starts from the New Moon.
Every few years we have to add a 13th month. How do we know when to do this?
When you enter the land I am going to give you and you reap its harvest, bring to the priest a sheaf of the first grain you harvest.
He is to wave the sheaf on the day after the Sabbath. Lev. 23:10-11
The first harvest is the barley harvest. If the barley is ripe enough, or in a state of aviv, ready to reap and used in sacrifice during the Feast of Unleavened Bread, that means we have a New Month and the New Year has begun
If it isn`t ripe enough we have to add a 13th month.
So the beginning of the biblical New Year is determined by the New Moon and the ripeness of the barley👍
